Wallpapers

Our wallpapers are divided into 4 different sizes: regular/full-screen (1600×1200), widescreen (16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios), and iphone(320×480). Christy uploads a new set every Friday onto our BeKyoot Facebook page and on her blog, so be sure to check there for the most recent additions! You can read her blog here: Christy’s BeKyoot Blog Below is an excerpt from her blog on picking the right res for your screen since we have so many options! :)

How to Pick the Right Screen Res – A Kawaii Wallpaper Resolution Guide

This is a quick guide to help you choose the right resolution for your monitor.

Here is a list of all the resolutions I will be posting:

1600×1200 (for 4:3) (same as before)

1920×1200 (for 16:9) (same as 1440×900 but without pixellation on higher res’s)

1920×1080 (for 16:10) (new!)

320×480 (iPhone)(same as before).

This is so I can cover as many screens as possible with the highest quality of image.

Previously, with the old resolutions, some people may have gotten a pixellated or fuzzy image due to the res of my wall not being up to snuff with the res of their screen. My widescreen version was the worst offender, being the bottom/smallest screen size for widescreen monitors. Nothing bugs me more than low res images on my desktop, so! This must be fixed. Now all sizes will scale down seamlessly for smaller resolutions and fit perfectly with the largest of common screen sizes. Auto-fitting and stretch options should result in a clean image for every screen res.

I’ve included a chart below so you can easily see where your screen falls in the different aspect ratios and therefore which wallpaper version would be best for you. The version I will be posting is the last one listed in each column and corresponds with the one you should choose when downloading a Friday post. BTW, you can determine your screen res (these directions apply to PC’s…I don’t know how to check for this on a mac) by right clicking on your desktop and selecting “properties” and then looking at the settings tab for your screen resolution.

Additionally, if you don’t already have a wallpaper changer program and/or are looking for one that’s pretty nice, I would suggest WallMaster (the free version). It’s really simple to use, and not to mention completely free. I looked forever to find something to replace the one I had used for years and then lost in a computer transfer. You just drag and drop the walls you want to rotate into the file box and then set your changing interval.

Comments and questions are more than welcome! If there are ways that you think I can improve this guide or make my directions more clear, please don’t hesitate to post a comment!
